We sat down and asked the latest video contest winner, IWIHooligan, a few questions relating to his win!
#1- How's it feel to win a video contest?
A. Well in all honesty it feels great! It's such an honor to be recognized by Rockstar Games and my fellow video
makers here at Addict. These contests bring out the best in directors. We watch each others videos and try to
set the bar higher with each project. So the quality of the material just keeps getting better and better, making
the competition harder each time. To win one of these things now is quite an honor. Most of all when you are
working with just the original game and no modifications.
#2- We have enjoyed much of your prior work but it is certainly different than your other videos. What made you change pace?
A. Well this time around I wasn't trying to make a dead set winner. For this last contest I just decided that I would let my
imagination go wild and see where that took me. I watched a few of the videos that were already up before making mine.
I noticed that most people were using the main clubs of BOGT. So I figured I would take the road less traveled
and dive into the "strip club" scene of The Lost and Damned. I just felt the urge to do something completely different.
#3- Why do you think that in the past 3 contests a GTA addict has won?
A. Well I think because this community is dedicated and very friendly. There is no negativity here like there is
on other GTA related community sites. There for "no constraints" leaving everyone open to be as creative
as they choose. All of the editors I have met here on Addict have inspired me to make better stuff. We feed
off one another to make high quality material I guess. Apparently Rockstar has noticed
#4- If you could change something about your video what would you alter?
A. Ah man I could write a page on this alone haha. So I'm going to go ahead and just list 1 thing. From 2:30
to 2:45 I wanted to rotate each clip so it all blended into sort of a circle motion. I ran out of time so I left
it the way it is.
#5- How did you stumble upon your idea?
A. Well since I'm "of age" haha I have a little experience with strip clubs. Also since I'm "of age" I have
a little experience drinking in strip clubs. As most of you know when you recall a drunken night at the
strip club it all comes back in blurry distorted flashes. Quick brief moments from hundreds of different
angles lol. So I guess my video is trying to imitate that. I chose the music video style as a personal
test to see if I could fully sync the video with the song.
#6- Who were your video picks and why did you like them?
A. I really like both of Chicago's videos Raise your Glass and Interview with a Bartender. They were both
very unique and original. I also liked MRichston's Mission Impossible I felt it had some of the best
camera work of any video. Also Fuget's video, I know he doesn't think it deserved to win but like
many other people I thought it stood out amongst the competition.
#7- I have seen your post in the forum's about IWI, who are they? Are you a GTA only clan?
A. [W] a.k.a The [W]arriors is one of GTA onlines longest running and most successful clans.
Yes we are a GTA only clan, we don't even care about or mess with other games as a clan.
[W]e have been actively playing GTA online since Feb 2003, This month is actually the 8 year
mark for The [W]arriors. [W]e have been celebrating and hosting games on GTA IV
almost everyday. Anyone reading this is welcome to come join us! Look for those
www.warriorsgang.com matches. You can also find more info about us at the same url.
#8- What was your response when you found out you won the PC?
A. I was excited, for any GTA fan like myself this is quite the collectors item. Mainly because
I'm one of those people who play GTA exclusively on PC.
#9- Would you consider doing a joint video with a bunch of us GTA addicts?
A. Sure why not, it would be an honor to work with you guys on any project.
#10- Thank you for you time, any closing words?
A. My pleasure, its always a good time with GTA Addict. Closing words? Sure why not "8 years strong and [W]e are still the deal!"
